Based near the grand Tower Bridge in London, Gay Star News approached CK Creative to design and build a news based website and branding.

The premise of this exciting venture was to create a web site for LGBT (Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transexual) related news that is constantly being updated 24/7 by their reporters in UK, USA & Asia.  Gay Star News wanted to stay clear of the stereotypical gay news site design – so no pink and no rainbows!

A clean design shows that readers can flow through the editorial and not be pestered with too much advertising. GSN has been designed with a friendly, approachable design but also looks professional, corporate-appropriate and ‘newsy’.

This website has a jet-pack of powerful system functions, from social media integration and auto-semantic links, to feeding as a Google News resource and serving adverts through an integrated ad-server.

The design of the website has since won praise from GSN’s audience and clients and saw us nominated for a Drupal Bluedrop Award for design. Since then, we have worked closely with GSN helping to push them to an incredible 100,000 unique visitors and 210,000 page impressions per month within just four months.

Cheekyshoes are a company selling funky and unique shoes, and they wanted a website that was equally funky and unique.

We decided to build this website within the Magento framework, as Magento offers very powerful e-commerce features, and at it’s heart the Cheekyshoes website is all about selling shoes!

However, the Cheekyshoes team also really wanted to engage their audience, to connect with them on a personal level before they purchased the shoes.

We decided on an all-out social media attack, with links to their Facebook and Twitter accounts, Twitter feeds, a blog / latest news section and a chat module so that customers can talk in real time to the Cheekyshoes guys. Phew!

As with all new businesses, since launching the shoe website has gone through a few organic design changes (such as new product shots and a light, sketchy feel to navigation and button elements) and CK Creative have been on hand to work with Cheekyshoes through these design changes.

Cheekyshoes are currently enjoying putting a smile on many a cheeky girl’s face!

Natalie Evans from BeingU needed a website that was ‘social networked’ up to the hilt, and a fabulous brand to go with it. Enter CK Creative!

We first got to work on a logo for BeingU.  Something clean, stylish and fun that emphasised the business.  Once we had the brand in place, the style of the website was made to fit.  Natalie wanted a website that she could update from her iPhone, that would automatically update her Facebook account with new blogs and that streamed her latest tweets.

Well boy, we delivered!  BeingU now have a website that showcases their personal training and styling service, that allows Natalie to connect to her clients intimately yet maintains a professional and yet maintains that professional approach.

We also worked on a flyer design for BeingU for Natalie to bolster her offline marketing.
